Most cookie banners ask. Vafer enforces. It's a cookie-consent app for Shopify that treats every consent choice as a switch. Known trackers (Google, Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, Microsoft, LinkedIn, Klaviyo, Hotjar, Clarity) are held until the shopper accepts, and so is anything you tag with a one-line convention. If a shopper rejects, Vafer deletes the tracking cookies already on their device. Cart and checkout cookies are never touched. You set rules by geography, such as opt-in for the EU and opt-out with a Do Not Sell link for the US. Vafer also gives you a pre-filled cookie policy and logs every decision for audits, with CSV export. The storefront script is 14 KB and doesn't block page loading. It works with Shopify's Customer Privacy API and Google Consent Mode v2, honours Global Privacy Control, and shows the banner in 9 languages. Vafer is open about its limits: the Diagnostics screen flags the gaps it doesn't cover instead of hiding them. Vafer is in early access, with a waitlist for stores that want to try it.

I'm a GTM engineer at Nostra AI, an edge platform that 300+ e-commerce brands use for site speed, bot protection and tracking. Working closely with Shopify stores there, I kept seeing cookie banners that asked for consent but never actually stopped the tracking. I love building SaaS tools, so I started building Vafer to fix that properly. Merchants told me they wanted it, and also wanted help getting it set up, so that's what I'm building now.
