About This Launch
Mac Developer Bridge is an open-source local MCP server for macOS that lets a normal ChatGPT conversation operate the machine where development work actually lives. It exposes shell commands, unrestricted file operations, real interactive PTY sessions, detached background jobs, and read-only persisted Codex history while keeping ChatGPT as the reasoning layer.
Why I Built This
I kept ending up as the human copy/paste layer between a strong ChatGPT conversation and the Mac where my source code, terminal, running processes, and unfinished Codex work lived. I built the bridge so I could ask ChatGPT to recover a Codex session, inspect the live repo, run tests, fix the issue, and push the result without manually relaying state between tools.
