About This Launch
Version Signal is a free, no-signup browser tool and JSON API that checks the current stable npm or PyPI package version and publication date directly from the canonical package registry. It helps developers avoid stale package advice and links to a paid claim-verification API for automated agents.
Why I Built This
Package versions change faster than search results and model training data. We built a tiny canonical-source checker so developers and coding agents can verify the current release before installing, upgrading, or citing a version.
