Yap is voice dictation for Mac. Hold a shortcut, speak and let go: Yap turns your speech into clean, punctuated text and types it into the app you are using, from email and docs to chat and terminals. Speech recognition runs on your computer, so recordings are never uploaded. It keeps a searchable local history.

Why I Built This
Yap started as a simple question: why is dictation still so clumsy on the desktop? We built a voice typing app that runs speech recognition on your own computer. It types into whatever app you are using.
