About This Launch
TV Checker is a free web tool for US shoppers. Enter a TV model number and it decodes the brand, size, region and sales channel, then compares specs such as native refresh rate, HDMI 2.1 and local dimming. It rates its confidence on whether a set is a cut-down or exclusive Black Friday model, and says so when the answer is still unknown.
The site also has guides on spotting Black Friday models and a methodology page. It runs in the browser. No pricing is stated.
Why I Built This
US shoppers need a way to check whether a Black Friday TV might be a cheaper derivative or cut-down model, and to be told when the answer is still unknown.
