The Only Billboard gives one live advertisement the entire website. The first buyer claims it for $1. Each takeover replaces the current ad, raises the next price by $1, and links visitors directly to the buyer. Every displaced ad remains permanently in History, turning a scarce ad slot into both an advertising product and an internet game.
Online advertising keeps adding slots until every page feels interchangeable. I wanted to try the opposite: one piece of space, a rule anyone can grasp, and a price that only moves in one direction. The result is a billboard that behaves like both an ad and a small internet game.
