SlopScore is a free AI-slop writing linter. Paste text or a URL and it highlights the habits readers associate with machine-written copy ("it's not X, it's Y", "let's dive in", dramatic one-line closers, "delve", em-dash overuse) with a 0-100 score and a fix for each match. It is deterministic: about 20 regex and sentence-shape rules, no model calls, same text always same score. The browser checker runs client-side. MIT CLI and GitHub Action fail a PR when docs go over a threshold. Not an AI detector: it points at specific sentences.
I built SlopScore because readers increasingly notice repetitive AI writing habits, while existing AI detectors guess authorship instead of showing writers what to fix. SlopScore makes concrete, deterministic feedback available for free in the browser and in developer workflows.
