About Private Text Scanner
Private Text Scanner is an Android document scanner for receipts, notes, forms, contracts, and other sensitive pages. Capture multiple pages or import existing images, then extract editable text directly on the device. Saved documents stay in a local searchable library with titles, tags, notes, and OCR text. The free tier uses ML Kit OCR; a rewarded ad can unlock an extra PP-OCRv5 scan. Lifetime Pro removes ads and limits and adds higher-accuracy PP-OCRv5 plus searchable multi-page PDF export. No account is required.
Why I built this
I built it after seeing how often people scan sensitive receipts, contracts, IDs, and work notes into services that depend on cloud OCR or recurring subscriptions. I wanted a practical Android scanner where the document and recognized text stay on the user’s phone, the core workflow works without an account, and the paid upgrade is a one-time purchase.
