Platter turns your Mac desktop into a wall-mounted CD player. Drag an album cover onto a virtual deck and the disc animates onto the spindle. It has a shelf of recently played albums, play, pause, skip, shuffle and repeat, a menu bar mini player, and light and dark finishes that follow your Mac. Apple Music needs a subscription and plays inside Platter; Spotify needs its desktop app open, and Platter controls it. Requires macOS 14.0 or later and Apple silicon.
7-day free trial with all features, then one-time $3.99, no subscription. Family Sharing covers up to six people. Not affiliated with Apple or Spotify.
Each of the builder's small native Apple apps solves one tactile problem. Platter brings the feel of a physical CD player to the Mac desktop.
