Most free online editors are quick-fix tools, and Photoshop needs an install and a subscription. PhotoFresco puts a real layer editor in a browser tab: layers, masks, blend modes, selections, brushes, filters, adjustment layers and layer styles, with PSD import and export so your existing files open.
It is designed for AI agents too: every editing action is a structured operation an agent can call, with the Agent API coming soon. The core editor is free. AI image generation that lands as an editable layer is available through paid credits.
I'm Josh, a graphic designer who spent years running a promotional products business from inside Photoshop and Illustrator. I wanted a real layer editor (layers, masks, selections, PSD files) that opens free in any browser tab with no install or subscription, and that AI agents will be able to drive step by step while I inspect and undo every move.
