Machi Photos is a web tool with two parts. First, a free ID photo maker: take a photo on your phone, choose the size (resume, passport, residence card, etc.), and get an L-size print sheet you can print at Japanese convenience stores for 30 yen (FamilyMart/Lawson) or 40 yen (7-Eleven netprint). Second, a library of more than 100 AI photo effect templates (figure style, pixel art, old photo restoration, pet line art, postcards, product photos and more): upload a photo, pick a template, get the result.
We're a small team in Japan. Making ID photos usually means a photo studio or fiddly editing, so we built a browser tool that turns a phone photo into a print-ready sheet for convenience stores, and added AI photo effect templates for fun edits.
