Folklore MCP by Helena Bioinformatics is a remote MCP server over Streamable HTTP that connects AI assistants to public genomic variant classification and interpretation under ACMG/AMP. It covers supported GRCh38 nuclear germline SNVs and simple indels under 50 bp, with evidence review, gene profiles, gene-disease associations and scientific literature. The page lists client setups for Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor and VS Code.

The page lists 11 public tools that need no account or API key. 18 more tools need an API key, which makes 29 in total, and case processing is subject to subscription limits and credits, with a separate Pricing page. No patient files, private cases or batch VCF uploads. Results require professional review and are not diagnosis or treatment recommendations.

The MCP adapter makes Folklore public variant evidence accessible from AI assistants, so researchers and genetics professionals can review classifications and their supporting sources within their existing workflow.
