DeskWink is a remote MCP connector, installed as a CLI, that lets web AI apps such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini browse, read, search and propose edits to folders you choose. Every file change is previewed and needs your approval, and a local backup is saved first. Only folders you add are visible, and .env files and ~/.ssh are blocked by default. The page says file contents are not stored, which is the vendor's own claim.

It is in closed beta and free during the beta: $0 for up to 2 computers, 5,000 AI actions per month and 30-day history. It runs on Windows 10/11 and macOS 13+ with Node.js 22+. Pro, Power and Team plans are marked coming soon, with a Pro launch price of $10 a month.

DeskWink exists so that web AI apps can work with files on your own computer, with approval for every change.
